  • Whole blood collection- In house as well as in Voluntary blood donation camps.
  • Infectious markers screening (HBV, HCV, HIV, Syphilis & Malaria).

Expansion planned for the future:

Short Term Plans:

  • Participation in Hemovigilance program of India and Donor vigilance program of India (MoHFW).
  • Participation in e-rakt kosh portal (MoHFW).
  • Special emphasis on Transfusion Support to multi-transfused patients like thalassemia and leukemias using advanced immune-haematology and specialised component therapy.
  • Start of MD Course in Transfusion Medicine.
  • Pneumatic tube system for receiving and dispensing blood units.
  • PRP therapy and platelet gel therapy for different indications in collaboration with various departments.
  • Introduction of Blood Bank Software System in the department.
  • Therapeutic work in the form of practicing modern clinical transfusion practices like therapeutic plasma exchanges for different indications, therapeutic phlebotomy for patients of high haemoglobin conditions, autologous blood transfusion etc.

 

 

Long term plans:

  • To achieve 100 percent non-remunerated voluntary blood donation in the region.
  • To start Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT) of Blood Components.
  • Setting up of Advanced Automated Immuno-haematology.
  • To start the facility of Peripheral Blood Stem Cell collection and preservation.
  • To start the facility of Irradiation of blood components for Intrauterine transfusion, immunocompromised patients and candidates of Bone Marrow Transplantation.
  • To start the facility of point-of-care testing like thrombo-elastography for monitoring the functional haemostatic status of the patients.
  • Intra-uterine Transfusion (IUT) in collaboration with department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  • PDCC course for post MD students in the field of blood components and apheresis.
